Readings on the Occult Life is an online reading and discussion group focused on subjects such as the occult path, discipleship, the path of initiation, and the Masters of Wisdom.

What are dreams, and what do they reveal about the nature of consciousness? From a Theosophical perspective, the dream state is not merely a byproduct of physical rest but a portal to deeper dimensions of being. In this interactive program, we will explore the esoteric teachings presented in C. W. Leadbeater’s pioneering work, Dreams—What They Are and How They Are Caused.

Through careful study and engaging discussion, you will gain insight into the various types of dreams, ranging from the purely physiological to the profoundly spiritual. Whether you are a dedicated student of Theosophy or simply curious about the deeper aspects of dreaming, this course will provide a clear understanding of what happens when consciousness passes beyond the physical plane, as well as the possibilities open to us during sleep. 

In this course you will learn:

• How consciousness functions in waking, sleeping, and dreaming states, as viewed from an esoteric perspective.
• How different levels of dreaming arise from physiological, psychological, and spiritual influences, distinguishing among their respective causes.
• The types of experiences that can occur during sleep by means of subtle bodies in higher planes of existence.
• How to enhance awareness of your dream experiences through methods such as dream journaling, meditation, and Theosophical exercises.

Each class features live reading, discussion, and meditation on chosen excerpts of the text, emphasizing the practical application of these teachings in everyday life.

Registrants are invited to review C. W. Leadbeater’s book titled Dreams—What They Are and How They Are Caused prior to the April 1st class. Excerpts will be emailed during the course of the series. 

Registrants will receive on-demand access to recording(s) that can be viewed for two weeks following the conclusion of the program.
